Camping at Birch Bend
Troop 66 had a good time camping on the lake shore at Birch Bend in June. The boys worked on the Fly Fishing merit badge and cooked the delicious meals. The adults helped camp staff split firewood and fended off mosquitoes.
Unfortunately, all 3 of our vehicles suffered some kind of unrelated mechanical challenges on the way home, with one requiring a tow back to St. Paul. (Don't worry, we're renting a nice van for our trip to Tomahawk in August!)

Camping at Kiwanis
Ever wondered what it's like to camp in Minnesota 1 week after a record-setting blizzard in April? Actually, not too bad! The snow melted quickly, leaving behind significant mud on pathways, but the rest of camp was okay. The boys worked on many requirements and went on a couple hikes through the woods.
