Camping at Birch Bend

Troop 66 had a good time camping on the lake shore at Birch Bend in June. The boys worked on the Fly Fishing merit badge and cooked the delicious meals. The adults helped camp staff split firewood and fended off mosquitoes.

Unfortunately, all 3 of our vehicles suffered some kind of unrelated mechanical challenges on the way home, with one requiring a tow back to St. Paul.  (Don't worry, we're renting a nice van for our trip to Tomahawk in August!)

Beautiful sunset!

A tight squeeze to fit all the tents on level ground.

Meanwhile, the adults helped split & stack firewood for future campers.
